EYELID SURGERY
 

The purpose of this surgery is to eliminate the "tired look" or the accumulation of fat (bags) under the eyes. It also eliminates the flaccidity (hanging skin) above the eye. This surgery may also include the repositioning of the eyebrows, if they are below the normal level, and on occasion exist alterations more severe (such as ptosis paleberal)  where the upper lid has severely fallen. This procedure does NOT correct "crows feet", for that it is necessary to use other procedures such as botox or peelings. This procedure will NOT correct discoloration "dark circles" under the eyes.

The incisions are made in such a way, that the resulting scars will be hidden in the fold of the upper eyelid, and immediately under the lower lash border of the lower lid.
Eyelid surgery (blefaroplasty) is performed under sedation and local anesthesia. After spending a few hours in the recovery room of the hospital or clinic, the patient is released that same day. The stitches are taken out 5 to 7 days after surgery, and total recuperation time is approximately 2 weeks. Blefaroplasty can be done alone or in combination with other procedures.
