FACELIFT SURGERY

Primarily this refers to surgeries that "stretch" the face and neck. The objective here is to reaccommodated the tissue of the face and neck that has "fallen"  through the aging process. The objective here is to achieve a better outline of the cheekbones, the nasalabial folds,  the jaw line, and the looseness of the neck among others. To achieve this, the plastic surgeon must make different incisions primarily in the hairline, around the ears and under the chin. The forehead may also be treated, in combination, for best results. These modifications can include the different layers of facial tissue, not only the skin. In this way we look to achieve natural results (avoiding the "mask" effect) with the longest possible duration.

This type of surgery must be performed under sedation and local anesthesia (always under the presence and supervision of a qualified anesthesiologist) or under general anesthesia. The recuperation period  is 2 to 3 weeks of moderate rest, and  exposure to the sun must be avoided.
Facial rejuvenation can include other helpful methods such as the use of peelings, botox, and facial molding, in combination with eyelid surgery or the process of Peribucal rejuvenation.

As with any surgery, the state of health must be evaluated prior to the surgery. This may include blood tests, electrocardiograms, and a consultation with a cardiologist.
