PERIORAL REJUVENATION

Some people may notice a deterioration around the area of the mouth. The appearance of furrows, a thinning of the pink area of the lips, the beginnings of  the lips descending downward, or the lengthening of the upper lip. This alteration can enhance  the appearance of the lips by means of a combination of procedures, such as lip augmentation, which are injections of different molding agents, such as the patients own fat, hialuronic acid (Restylane*), skin grafts (Alloderm*, Cymetra*) and others. In Peribucal rejuvenation we can also utilize chemical peels or skin abrasions  in conjunction with some surgical steps such as the shortening of the upper lip.
Perioral rejuvenation is frequently associated with facial rejuvenation, even though it can be performed as an isolated surgery, generally under sedation and local anesthesia. After a few hours in recovery, the patient goes home that same day. Recuperation time varies depending on the techniques implied  in each individual case.
